      1. Well most of the white males in that list were from South Africa, or from there originally. Exploitation of the resources and of the people in that country by Europeans went on longer than in any other part of Africa. For decades – or centuries even – routes to wealth were made only accessible to people who were white, and judging by the age of many of them, I wouldn’t be surprised if most of them had made their climb to riches during, or long before apartheid had ended.

        I’m not at all saying that these men weren’t against the racist structure of South Africa, but the fact they were automatically given privileges from birth for being white more than likely gave them advantages many blacks wouldn’t have gotten to get in the position they’re in today, whether that was through education, money or not being held back because of their skin colour.
