Today I went to school to write an english paper and out of writting that paper I came out inspired and introduced to Mike Maphoto who is also a blogger and write his blogs from his phone just like I do. He originates from South Africa/Limpopo/Polokwane And works as a lawyer and owns a trucking company. The guy started his online writting by posting opinion articles on facebook and these articles got a lot of followers and sparked debates then in late may 2013 he started a blog called “diary of a zulu girl” about a girl from KwaZulu-Natal who moves to Johannesburg to continue with her studies at a university. After 2 weeks the blog had received about 500 000 views and later he was interviewed by one of the popular radio stations in South Africa where some of the kind callers gave him advice on how to make revenue off the blog. A lot of publishers wanted to sign deals with him but he decided to self-publish the blog. By now he has signed a book deal and has also signed with multiChoice to develop a Tv series based on “diary of a zulu girl“. He also has started other blogs like “Confessions of a SugarBaby” and “Missteps of a young wife” and all this started as a hobbie and now the dude is making money out of it. Honestly this gave me more motive on what were doing with this blog “new age history” and even though we have not once reached our daily target, we are definitely getting somewhere because clearly determination and passion always pays off.

Suli Breaks, the Expressionist.

Inspiration, Life, music, poetry

Suli Breaks

I have always been a lover of poetry, in all forms. From written to spoken word. So, with a great honor, please allow me introduce you to Suli Breaks!!  A UK controversial, conscientious and incredible poet who became known for his “Why i hate school but love education” spoken word. This video became viral in 2012 on YouTube (currently with over 5 and half million views), it attracted so much reasonable attention from most parts of the world. I’m not ashamed to say I’m almost addicted to his thoughts and perception of life in general. He has released his debut audio project entitled “The Dormroom”, you can access it from the links provided below. He knows what it means to creatively touch people’s soul through art. You do NOT want his existence to be foreign to you. Please familiarise yourself with Suli, I promise you it’s worth every second of your time. You do not have to be a lover of poetry for you to know or give him your time. I can go on and on about him cos he’s that awesome but for now, You can access his stuff on the link(s) down below:

Music

Meet Raury Tullis who is always wearing a sunhat. His a young 18 year old from ATL (atlanta) and calls himself a perfectionist and from what I heard when listening to his Ep I agree. Inspired by the likes of kid Cudi, Bon Iver, Manchester Orchestra, Bloc Party, Tupac and gucci maine to name a few the kid makes great genuine music though iam not so sure of the genre he falls under it says alternative/indie on my music player. With his “Anti-tour” he’s been popping up on musician’s concerts while fans are still waiting in line and starts playing his set even though cops tend to stop him before he even gets to the lyrics this got him noticed by André 3000 and he booked Raury to open at Outkast’s homecoming show in September. Raury’s aim is to make music from the soul in an era where music from the soul is overlooked and to “better the world in a cool ass way” with that misic and from where iam standing iam pretty sure he will aslong as you don’t sleep on him.
